We've got to go for everything
It was almost high noon and the sun had reached its zenith when the talk came on energy. And although protected by an impressive tent, the 400 ºÚÁÏÉçapp staff members gathering inside could certainly feel the potential of solar energy—which is only one viable option for securing the world's increasing demand, according to Sir Chris Llewellyn Smith, the Chairman of the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Council. "There is no single solution, we've got to go for everything."
"Energy" was the featured topic of the fourth Inside ºÚÁÏÉçapp seminar given yesterday by Llewellyn Smith, the prominent and world-travelling ambassador for fusion energy. "If we can produce fusion power in a reliable and competitive way, it will be one very important part of the portfolio of measures that must be taken to meet the energy challenge."
The seminar was the second presentation for ºÚÁÏÉçapp staff yesterday
and followed a round-up on the outcome of the fourth ºÚÁÏÉçapp Council meeting in Mito, Japan, last week, jointly given by the Director-General, Kaname Ikeda and Llewellyn Smith.
