Description

Purpose/Scope

Performs mechanical and process engineering activities for the Boronization Gas System (BGS);

• Develops detailed process diagrams of BGS and produces 3D system layout within Tokamak Complex and Tokamak Machine;
• Prepares specifications of interfaces, supporting structures, etc., and delivers them in the required and proper drawing formats;
• Conducts assessments of loads in the supporting system, determines span requirements for supports, and carries out analyses such as pipe flexibility analysis and studies.
  

List of activities to be performed

• Becomes broadly familiar with the types of in-plant equipment and their planned layout at ºÚÁÏÉçapp under the guidance of ºÚÁÏÉçapp technical officers for Fuelling and Disruption Mitigation (FDM) Systems;
• Addresses and resolves identified clashes, which may involve repositioning equipment/systems or negotiating with counterparts to achieve a feasible arrangement;
• Develops and proposes technical solutions for system layout and routing;
• Prepares written instructions to designers offering options and recommendations, and collaborates with assigned CAD designer(s) to support the 3D model evolution;
• Implements modifications directly in the model using IO CAD tools, where applicable;
• Drafts specifications for interfaces, supporting structures, etc., and delivers them in the required and proper drawing formats;
• Performs assessments of loads in supporting systems, determines the required span of supports, and carries out analyses such as pipe flexibility analysis and studies;
• Reviews and evaluates detailed models and 2D drawings received from DAs;
• Contributes to the preparation of Engineering Work Packages in the drawing or model formats;
• Manages multiple concurrent tasks by setting clear priorities and tracking progress systematically;
• Ensures that decisions are documented clearly and traceably, using verifiable data and task-related facts.
• Any other activity related to the overall IPA activities.

• Good experiences in mechanical and process design in the relevant industries, such as nuclear, petro-chemical, oil and gas, etc.
• Good knowledge in CAD tool (CATIA/ENOVIA) and structural analysis codes (ANSYS/CAESER II)

Specific Training to Perform the Assignment:

CATIA training

Specific Requirements and Conditions:

• Mechanical engineer with design engineering skills for plant design disciplines such piping design, with capabilities using 3D drawing tools (the preferred 3D software tool is CATIA mechanical and piping design).
• It is required to produce 2D sketches and drawings to support design activities using software such as AutoCAD or CATIA.
• Knowledge of ANSYS and/or CAESER II will be an advantage.

Description

Purpose/Scope

The Associate for the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Cooling Water System Project will perform steady-state and transient thermal-hydraulic calculations for the different Cooling Water loops.

List of activities to be performed

• Support updating Coolong Water System (CWS) hydraulic models, system sizing datasheets, system sizing reports, design condition reports and overpressure protection design, due to PCRs and feedback from commissioning team impacting
  Cooling Water system updating Chilled Water System (CHWS-1A) thermal hydraulic model and system sizing report in preparation for CHWS-1A FDR
• Update CHWS-1B water-hammer analysis as per current design.
• Perform CHWS-1A water-hammer analysis as per current design.
• Any other activity related to the overall IPA activities.

• The Control Processes of Cooling Systems for Nuclear Power Plants or nuclear facilities is considered an advantage.
• Project Management from design, procurement, and manufacturing of cooling systems;
• RELAP5 system code for transient thermal-hydraulics analyses is required;
• Software for thermal-hydraulics steady state analyses (e.g. AFT Fathom) is required;
• MELCOR software would be an advantage;
• Specific software for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations would be an advantage;
• 2D-3D CAD software (AVEVA E3D or Catia and See-Visio) is appreciated.

CAD Model Creation and Updates

• Develop or update 3D CAD models for Engineering Work Packages and Construction Progress Descriptions.
• Produce 2D drawings including assembly configurations, requirements, and component details.
• Update existing CAD models to include missing information or corrections (e.g., tagging, plasma phase, PBS levels).

Engineering Studies and Reports

• Create CAD environments tailored to TRO requirements using CATIA tools (e.g., scene detailing, track layout, clash detection).
• Prepare study reports and presentations (e.g., PowerPoint documents).

Vacuum Vessel (VV) CAD Support

• Support the VV engineering team with design updates and model maintenance.
• Integrate new or modified components into the existing VV CAD data.
• Create and revise 2D drawings (e.g., ACD, REQ) based on engineering input.
• Assist in design reviews and prepare data for technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with CAD quality standards.

• Performs execution of technical studies, impact assessment and implementation of change requests and design review preparations, identify and report new issues or any deviation.
• Knowledge of CAD quality standards and compliance procedures.
• Experience implementing design changes based on site feedback, including repairs and as-built adjustments.
• Proficiency in 3D scanning tools and software, such as Polyworks, for model reconstruction.
• Ability to work with as-built data for accurate model updates and assembly support.

Engineering Studies and Reporting

• Ability to create CAD environments for engineering studies, including clash detection and layout planning.

Purpose/Scope:

The IPA will support CAD activities related to the Heating & Current Drive (HCD) systems, including:

• Produces CAD Deliverables, in accordance with the CAD Work-plans proposed by Technical Teams, such as: General arrangement/layout drawings, schematics, 3D models, assembly/part drawings, isometrics, interface & composite drawings, bills of materials, 3D simulations, tagging & other CAD data to support all phases (design, procurement, pre-assembly, installation & commissioning);
• Performs execution of technical studies, impact assessment and implementation of change requests and design review preparations, identify and report new issues or any deviation.

• Mechanical Design, involving part and assembly design, generative shape design, and structure design using CATIA, with the ability to produce 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and component lists.
• Plant Design, covering piping and hanger design, equipment arrangement, and systems space reservation, using catalogue management tools such as CADENAS and EnS
• Drawing and Documentation, including drafting, generation of isometric drawings with I-RUN/ ISOGEN etc. ; diagram types include Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Control Block Diagrams (CBD), and Single Line Diagrams (SLD) using the SSD (See System Design (CAD software from IGE XAO)) tool
• Manages multiple concurrent tasks by setting clear priorities and tracking progress systematically.
• Ensures that decisions are documented clearly and traceably, using verifiable data and task-related facts.
• Any other activity related to the overall IPA activities.

• CATIA: Ability to create 3D models, 2D drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and lists.
• Knowledge about diagram types is required (e.g., PFD, PID, CBD, SLD).

Experience: 

• Mechanical Design (Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, Structure Design)
• Plant Design (Piping Design, Hanger Design, Equipment Arrangement, Systems Space reservation)
• Drawing (Drafting, I-RUN/ISOGEN for isometric drawing)

Preferred Requirements

• SSD (SEE System Design) Tool Proficiency:
• Experience with SSD for diagrams (PFD, PID, CBD, SLD)

Advanced Catalogue Knowledge:

• Experience with CADENAS and EnS catalogues

Publication Practices:

• Document/Data management System or IO ICP: Experience publishing diagrams made with SSD in technical databases

Experience & System-Specific Knowledge:

• Familiarity with ºÚÁÏÉçapp Heating systems: Neutral Beam Heating (NBH), Electron Cyclotron Heating (ECH), Ion Cyclotron Heating (ICH) - including system functions and components

Specific Training to Perform the Assignment:

• ENOVIA Certification: DESA certification (PBSA certification included)
• CATIA Certification: Equipment & System
• SMDD training 

Specific Requirements and Conditions:

• It is mandatory to complete certification in the above-mentioned ºÚÁÏÉçapp CAD training modules before commencing any work. Additionally, the Designer is expected to undertake any specific training required during the course of the assignment.
