Description

The ºÚÁÏÉçapp Project Associate (IPA) Scheme allows Home Institutes from the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Members to assign employees on technical as well as support activities to the ºÚÁÏÉçapp. Through this scheme, Home Institute employees can contribute with their expertise to strengthen international cooperation and integration between the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Central Team and the Domestic Agencies/ºÚÁÏÉçapp Members.

IPA opportunities are limited to nationals from countries participating in the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Project (China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States).

The proposed IPA(s) must be employed by the Home Institute (HI) at the time of submission of the proposal.

Purpose/Scope:

The purpose of the assignment is to provide, under ºÚÁÏÉçappÌýResponsible Officer (IO RO) leadership, the support in engineering assessment of the diagnostic systems located in the integrated lower, equatorial and upper diagnostic ports; to make sure that systems are designed to withstand various loads (thermal, seismic etc) structurally, including thermal fatigue assessment, and propose design improvements if they don’t. The assessment of diagnostic systems has to be made compliant with ºÚÁÏÉçapp practices and guidelines and documented in the System Load Specifications, supportive reports and Structural Integrity Reports (for in-vessel, in-PP components and ex-PP components).

• Conducts comprehensive engineering assessments of the diagnostic systems inside the integrated port infrastructure in lower, equatorial and upper ports.
• Supports IO Responsible Officers (ROs) in developing and substantiating design justifications to ensure diagnostic systems in the integrated lower, equatorial, and upper ports can withstand thermal loads, including the evaluation of fatigue-related factors.
• Collaborates closely with the port engineering team in the finalization of system designs, ensuring proper integration between diagnostic components and port infrastructure.
• Assists IO ROs in overseeing and following up on manufacturing analyses for diagnostic ports carried out by industry partners and ºÚÁÏÉçapp Domestic Agencies.
• Any other activity related to the scope of the IPA assignment.

  ÌýMaster/Engineering degree/ eqivalentÌýÌý

• Language Requirements:

• Technical Competencies and Experience:
  
  • ÌýPrevious experience in Mechanical engineering of complex structures.
  • ÌýExperience in thermal, structural and fatigue assessment.
  • ÌýUnderstanding of schematics and 3D/2D models.
  • Experience in using ANSYS for structural analysis.
  • Experience working in an international environment would be advantageous

• Specific Training to Perform the Assignment:

  Training in ANSYS if necessary.

  • Experience in application of Nuclear Codes and Standards in analysis work (RCC-MR, ASME, EN etc).

Purpose/Scope:

The overall purpose of the assignment is to support the Manifold Box design and manufacturing activities, as well as perform electro-mechanical installation and assembly works preparation for the cryogenic distribution boxes and lines. On-site supervision/follow-up of the activities performed by the Contractors related to the Cryodistribution System.

• Supports theÌýissuance of the Technical Specifications related to the design and manufacturing of the Manifold Box, as well as the mechanical and electrical installation and assembly works of the Cryodistribution system.Ìý
• Performs the review of manufacturing/installation documentation; installation procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, and the Installation Testing procedures issued by the Contractors. Performs factory inspections, if required.
• Ensures readiness of the areas and interfaces prior to the contractors'Ìýon-site mobilisation.
• Performs on-site supervision of the installation workÌýin the assigned area of responsibility while ensuring compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
• Follows up and resolves required field engineering changes and non-conformances within the assignedÌýarea of responsibility.
• Issues inspection and observation reports when/if required.
• Performs supervision/surveillance of the Site Acceptance Tests, including required troubleshooting within the assigned scopeÌýof responsibility.
• Maintains a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of the ºÚÁÏÉçapp Safety Program, values, and ethics while ensuring Safety rates are maintained below ºÚÁÏÉçapp's targeted rates.
• Supports the pre-commissioning activities and works on the Hand Over Packages (HOPs) to initiate the commissioning activities.
• Performs commissioning activities and supports the pre-operation of the cryogenic plant system, when required.Ìý
• Coordinates with various on-site entities to facilitate safe and uninterrupted installation work in compliance with the quality and schedule requirements.Ìý
• Extended hours or shift work may be required to support commissioning activities.Ìý
• Any other activity related to the IPA scope.
